New Year New Fresh Start!
Sometimes we wait for a New Year to start new things, or set new goals. Lets just start where we are and flourish in this idea called business! There are a lot of obstacles we face as entrepreneurs, whether it is new techniques we are trying to learn or people copywriting our ideas. It doesn't matter what the obstacles, we got this, keep pushing forward and support each other. The more we keep pushing the more we accomplish. Lets begin.

Ok guys! The other day was interesting, I got brave and Screen Printed for the first time. I gotta say I was a little scared at first. I got to admit I was watching someone on you tube for a tutorial. So I start by making a stencil for the screen, at this point I am excited then comes to applying the transfer tape to my stencil and I went threw 3 different kinds of transfer tape until I found the right one that worked, stressful but got it, lol. Ok next part using painters tape I had to tape the screen to the areas in which ink should not touch, next apply the ink to the screen this was the Fun Part. So as I squeegee the paint onto the screen I think I am doing a great job, however (I would advise not to do it with nails, lol) so I lift the screen and I guess I didn't apply it hard enough and so there was a little ink on the shirt so I put it back down and applied again this time much better. Ok at this point I am feeling myself since it came out decent, I was proud of my self but realized it is not as easy as people make it seem. Its ok though with more practice I'll be a pro in no time. As I am thinking about what to write today it becomes so clear. We are going to talk about our product line. We sell t-shirts blank or customized, along with hoodies, hats, mugs, cups, oven mitts, cutting boards, wall decals and car deals. As far as t-shirts we carry several brands which include: Bella Canvas - our favorite, Next Level - second favorite for our lovely women, or American Apparel- 3rd favorite, we also carry Gildan which comes in unisex. The brands of pull over hooded sweat shirts we carry Bella Canvas, Jerzees, Gildan, Hanes. Hats we carry Flexfit 5001, Flexfit 629F we will be also getting in others.

Trying to keep motivated can be tough at times. While you see other people moving forward you kinda get stuck in a rut on what you should be doing and when. My suggestions is do something, make a plan. If you make a plan you will find yourself getting more things done. Whether it is posting to social media, making new mockups, sending out email blasts, etc. Whatever it is keep moving... It is so easy to fall behind when you don't have a plan of action.


Remember you are your biggest - Motivator. 

Learning this industry (t-shirt design/customizing) gave me different thoughts on how to begin, continue and grow. Everyone has different opinions and suggestions. I found you have to know what products (vinyl, t-shirts, etc.) work best for you and what machines (cutters, heat press, hat press, mug press, etc.)  you like and can afford. That means you need to try different product lines and test your products before you sell. You need to know how they are going to perform from when the garments get washed or just simply from over time of wearing them. Examples may included wrinkling of vinyl, lifting of vinyl, shirts fading or not, shirts shrink or not. When it comes to your machines you need to make sure your heat press has equal heating all around the platen, if not your design may not hold well in one area. Also make sure you have enough pressure when pressing your designs or they will not hold to the shirt correctly.

If you decide to follow someone online to get there input or their experience make sure you are following someone with good reviews and years of experience. Don't jump from person to person you will never find your own way in this business. Again, everyone does things different.
